Once again Thursday has arrived and you know what that means!!!
Thursday’s Thoughts from Pastor David!!
 Did you happen to see the NBA basketball game on Mother’s Day between the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs?
Neither did I…
But…
Here’s what happened!
The San Antonio Spurs were pummeling the Warriors by 25 points at one point in the game.
Making the greatest and largest comeback in a Western Conference Finals in what seems like forever, the Warriors eventually won the game 113 – 111.
Stephan Curry of the Warriors had 40 points!
Kevin Durant of the Warriors had 34 points!
I think it goes without saying, these two guys pulled off the victory for the Warriors.
Or did they?
Basketball is a TEAM sport.
Let me propose this…
The Warriors would not have won the game without Ian Clark.
Ian Clark came off the bench and played for four minutes of the forty-eight minutes the team played.
Ian Clark only took one shot.
Ian Clark only made one shot.
His shot was worth…
3 points.
Take away his shot, his only  shot, his only made shot and the Warriors lose.
Add his shot, his only shot, his only made shot and the Warriors make history in winning 113 – 111.
There’s an old saying – “There’s no I in TEAM”
TEAM is a great acronym which stands for:
Together
Everyone
Achieves
More…
On the flip side, my sarcastic side of me loves the image above.

Now back to the serious conversation at hand…
Are you a TEAM player or do you prefer “Individual Brilliance?”
I love what the Preacher says in the book of Ecclesiastes…
⁹ Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
¹⁰ If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
¹¹ Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
¹² Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. (4: 9-12)
Whose team are you on?
Or are you going at it alone?
With whom have you aligned yourself with so that the cord of three strands won’t be quickly broken?
Or do you prefer relying on your “one” strand?
The scriptures say, “With God all things are possible!” (Matthew 19: 26)
What impossible things would you like to achieve “with God?”
“They” say you only have one shot in life.
As you team up with God, the only shot you have just may be the only shot you make to allow the TEAM to achieve a great victory!
Team up with God, team up with some friends, team up with some co-workers, team up with your family…
Take a shot…
And enjoy the sweet smell of Victory!
