Seeing Isnt Believing
Thursday’s Thoughts from Pastor David
It’s the last Thursday in the month of April!
The first Thursday of April was my wife’s birthday!
The last Thursday of April is my sister’s birthday!
Remember the disciple of Jesus named Thomas?
What adjective usually goes before his name?
That’s right – “Doubting”
He will forever be known as the “Doubting Thomas”.
All because he said he wouldn’t believe Jesus had resurrected from the dead unless he could see the nail prints in his hands and feet and touch them firsthand.
Thomas’ statement doesn’t seem all that unreasonable to me…
Maybe I should be called “Doubting David.”
Here’s Jesus’ response to Thomas upon seeing him face to face, “Jesus said to him, ‘Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’” (John 20: 29)
How about you?
Do you have to see to believe?
Or do you believe in order to see?
SeeingGodatWorkEveryDay…
Laugh often and Fear not!
David!

One Reply to “Seeing isn't believing”

  1. I think Jesus comes to us at some point so we believe in Him. Thomas believed in Jesus but couldn’t believe in Him when he was absent. The trick is to believe when everything around you says God is absent.
