On Monday night January 20th I had the rush of a lifetime by performing my debut Stand Up Comedy routine at the historic and world famous Carolines on Broadway in Times Square, New York City!

Special shout out to Matt Kazam who put together the “Ceo and Entrepreneur Stand Up Challenge”!
Matt is an amazing “humor scientist”, teaching our group (six of us) the ropes, the art and the science of stand up comedy.
For three months we met weekly to develop our material with our graduation performance being slated for the Carolines on Broadway stage.

Waiting in wings for my opportunity to go up and deliver the “set” I had put together was the most nerve wracking experience of my life. My hands were shaking so much, I was wondering how I would ever be able to hold the microphone still while I spoke.

Friends from all over the country came out to support and support they did.
Their presence allowed my nerves to settle so I could be “myself” up on stage.
Thank you to all those who came out to support! You know who you are!

God has a serious sense of humor and my hope and prayer is for more people to see God in that light.
So often when I tell people I am a Pastor of a Church, their visceral body language response is one of constriction and pulling back.
What if…
What if, their immediate and visceral response was one of laughter and smiles when I would say, “Hi there! My name is David Dendy and I am a Pastor of a Church.”

One of my goals in life is to give people the opportunity to experience God and His saving grace in a manner and environment of love, laughter and fearlessness.

I have a ways to go!
But in the wise words of Jimmy Valvano – “Don’t give up! Never give up!”

I won’t…
Too much is at stake!
David Dendy’s Stand Up Comedy debut at Carolines on Broadway was a great first step!

Laugh often and Fear not!
David!
