Christmas is a season to receive is the topic for Thursday’s Thoughts from Pastor David!

The Thursday after Christmas…
Boxing Day…
The Day after…
Six more days until 2020…

One of the delights of Christmas Day is the giving and receiving!

I love to give!

I am learning how to receive! Yes… “Learning” as in, it is a continual learning curve for me to receive the unconditional love of family and friends. The learning curve of receiving kind words, generous outpourings of gifts, time, energy and love all directed at me.

Who am I to receive such love?
And then it hits me… As much as I love to give those very same things to others, millions of “others” love to do the same!

Why would I want to deny anyone the joy of giving?
Christmas is a season to receive!

So… I am learning to receive…
with a grateful heart
with a humble heart
with honor
with grace
with joy
with laughter
with acceptance
with no strings attached
Receive…

It’s the most recognized saying of Jesus…
It’s the most quoted words of Jesus…
It’s the most memorized verse in the Bible…
It’s the most displayed verse at NFL football games…
It’s the most profound verse in the Bible…
John 3: 16

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

God loved!
God gave!
We believe!
We RECEIVE eternal life!

May this Christmas season and the New Year 2020 be the time where we joyfully receive this most precious gift!

Merry Christmas!
Laugh often and Fear not!
David!
