Overheard at the gym this morning while shaving…
A couple of guys saw a buddy they hadn’t seen in awhile…
Brad: Hey buddy! Haven’t seen you in awhile. Where have you been?
Missing Buddy: I moved back to Fresno, but still have most of my work here in Vegas.
Brad: Really. Wow. What caused the move?
Missing Buddy: Well… my girlfriend got pregnant. She didn’t have any friends or family here, so I did the right thing and moved her closer to family. Had to sell my bachelor pad and now I have a little condo I stay at when I am in town.
Brad: Dude…
Missing Buddy: Yeah… the baby changed everything!

I imagine the same type of conversation could have taken place about two thousand years ago…
Brad: Hey buddy! Haven’t seen you in a while. Where have you been?
Joseph: I moved back to Bethlehem for the census, but still have most of my work here in Nazareth.
Brad: Really. Wow. What caused the move?
Joseph: Well… my girlfriend got pregnant… I could have stoned her or divorced her but I had a strange dream and did the right thing… I married her. Had to sell the bachelor carpenter pad and now I have a little shop when I am in town.
Brad: Dude..
Joseph: Yeah… the baby changed everything!
I wonder if you have met Joseph’s son.
His name is Jesus and He is… the baby that changed everything!!
In the next nineteen days I hope you experience:
His grace
His mercy
His laughter
His love
His plan
His open and accepting arms
His friendship
His fearlessness
His smile
His peace
His eyes… O those eyes
“Unto us a child is born. Unto us a son is given. And he shall be called, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” – Isaiah 9: 6
Do you laugh with me as we hear Joseph innocently say,
“…the baby changed everything.”
Joseph could not have been more spot on!
The baby changed everything
And
With baby Jesus everything changed –  everything!
