The text message was quick and to the point: “I PASSED!!! I DID IT!!!
The very test, the very sum question as to whether or not my friend would pass her nursing school exam was summed up in this text.
What she once thought was impossible had just become a glorious reality of success and celebration to that which God had called her to pursue!
Congratulations Chicky!
Have you ever noticed that the word, “IMPOSSIBLE” is a compound word?
Separate the word between the “M” and the “P”…
What do you get?
Im Possible…
Then you have the contraction of “I Am Possible”
SeeingGodAtWorkEveryday…
And so this is how my mind goes…
I Am Possible reminds me of the time when God gives the assignment to Moses at 80 years of age to go and free His people from the Egyptians. Moses makes 7 protestations as to why God has chosen the wrong man. I think I could have come up with 77 reasons as to why I would not be the right choice. One of the protestations that Moses conjures up is, “I don’t even know your name. How can I go back to the Hebrews and tell them that You sent me when I don’t even know your name?”
God says to Moses, “Tell them that ‘I Am” sent you. ‘I am who I am…”
Next time I see the word IMPOSSIBLE
Next time I think the word IMPOSSIBLE
Next time the idea comes into my mind that a certain situation is IMPOSSIBLE
Next time my friends whisper in my ear, “IMPOSSIBLE”
Next time my heart grabs my body and mind and spirit and screams, “IMPOSSIBLE”
Next time my very soul reaches down to the depths of my core and scratches into the bedrock of my being the four syllable word “IMPOSSIBLE”
The next time any of those things happens,
I will RUN…
I will run through my mind
IMPOSSIBLE = Im POSSIBLE = I AM POSSIBLE = GOD POSSIBLE
With God anything is possible!
The question now is, “Do I really believe that?”
And the second question is, “Do you really believe that?”
I know Chicky believes…
I know Mary and Joseph believe…
I know the shepherds believe…
I know the Magi believe…
But Jesus looked at them and said,
“With man this is impossible,
but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19. 26)
