24 Challenges for a NEW YOU in 2021
Happy New Year!
Hello 2021!
Goodbye and good riddance to 2020.
The horizon is full of promise, new goals, new resolutions, new ideas, and major accomplishments and achievements are right around the corner!! Woohoo!
With that being said…
Will 2021 start off with a bang like every other year (2020, 2019, 2018, 2012) only to feel ourselves being sucked back into the “same ol’, same ol’” within days of getting out of the starting gate?
Studies reveal most of us (okay – all of us) have lapsed, given up and/or abandoned all of our New Year’s goals and resolutions by the 17th day of January. At that point we fall back into our “old” habits and the sense of doing something and being someone “NEW” is all but lost.
We want to be better! We have the best of intentions to be different! And yet…
I am reminded of the scripture: “The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
(Matthew 26:41)
Can you relate to this sense of frustration with the beginning of every New Year? I know I can!
What if this year could be different?
I am always up for a challenge!
I always have a major challenge for the year ahead.
Last year it was to be on the stage of Carolines Comedy Club on Broadway in Times Square, New York City. Mission accomplished!
In year’s past it has been to run a marathon, play the piano, publish a book, write a Keynote Speech and many others.
One of the keys to success for me has been accountability. It has been shown when you share your goal with someone and meet with that person on a regular basis to track and give updates, you will hit your goal 95% of the time. That’s impressive!
Would you like to be in a relationship with a group of fellow “challenge seekers” where we would hold each other accountable in a loving, healthy and caring way so as to become the NEW YOU God intends for us to be?
I invite you to join me in “24 Challenges for a NEW YOU in 2021”!
I have created this “Challenge” for us to become a “NEW YOU’.
More than updating and rearranging the “old furniture.”
More than just trying the “same ol’, same ol’”.
More than being just different.
To be a “NEW YOU!”
Jesus said, “I am making all things NEW…” (Revelation 21: 5)
The Apostle Paul wrote: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW creation.” (2 Corinthians 5: 17)
David, the Psalmist pleaded: “Put a NEW and right spirit within me…” (Psalm 51: 10)
Furthermore, Jesus is asked the question which “law” is the greatest. His response is, “Love the Lord your God and love your neighbor as yourself.”
As Jesus indicates, relationships are the very glue which hold us together in community with the Almighty, with our neighbors and with the person staring at you in the mirror.
This is the three legged stool we sit on for these 24 Challenges.
How do we become NEW in a way that offers us the skills, gifts and abilities to enjoy healthy, loving and long lasting relationships with all those we encounter?
